I began my mental health journey during one of the most trying and sacred times ever; During my pregnancy with my second daughter. I got some of the most heart crushing news you could ever imagine getting during what you would expect to be a beautiful time going into even more beautiful changes. Our family was growing but most importantly, we were growing... so I thought.
After getting the news I got, let alone the way I got it, I decided after a few days of feeling my very heavy feelings that I had to push through and do things that would help my mental health and help me heal. I had a baby growing inside of me that needed me to be as ready as I could be when she arrived. So I immediately found a wonderful therapist and began to get to work.
It's normally not until many of us get into some of the craziest situations that we find how something we were weak about creates the most strength. I made the decision to do what I needed how I needed to work against falling into depression, but more so Post-Partum Depression. Both can be so very scary because you have people depending on you, you have you depending on you and depression can cloud all will to push through. But I truly had to coach myself and understand while learning new ways to handle such a change, how to do what needed to be done to truly decide that I had to heal.
This was the start of My Mentally Heal Journey and this is a place for the mental health community to discover new tools just as I have along the way together. We will take things one day at a time and Mentally Heal to give ourselves a better quality of life because we deserve it. Loving myself and embracing each part of this journey along the way.

This picture of me depicts a time in which I chose to do the work daily and truly enjoy what is to come. The unknown can most definitely seem scary but the beauty in knowing that the work is so rewarding is enough to keep going.
